Want to know why this crumble is 'drunken'?
We poach gorgeous halved pears in a delicious combination of red wine, sherry, brown sugar, cinnamon & nutmeg.
We then let them sit over night to marinate in the poaching syrup ... in order to let them think about what they have done....
They are then topped with a delicious shortbread crumble.
When you take it home you then crisp it off in your oven for a scrumptious warm treat!
It is glorious eaten with a dollop of thick cream or vanilla bean ice cream.
Store frozen. Defrost over night in your fridge. Preheat oven to 180C. Cook for 20-30 minutes until bubbling on the edges. Eat within 48 hours of defrosting.
Serve with warm custard or a lashing of cream or ice cream.Vegetarian
