The Food at Cooked
Healthy eating is at the core of the Cooked Toowoomba food philosophy. We believe that “good life long health” requires eating good food. For this reason everything we prepare at Cooked Toowoomba begins with the best ingredients available.
We use local suppliers that we have developed trusted relationships with over many years. All our ingredients are fresh so that they can be safely frozen. We only use local Jalbirri Googums free range eggs. We endeavor to support Australian producers; olive oil, flour, sugar etc because we want to sustain our local industries known for world-class quality and safety standards.
Because we are not part of the mass-produced food industry you will not find, fillers, numbers and high salt content in our food. We use ingredients with the least amount of processing that we can find. For instance we do not use margarine or vegetable oils. Just butter and olive oil. Many of our meals are gluten free because when you cook from scratch there is usually no need for thickeners such as flour. This is the food that I cook for my family and food that you can feed to yours without any guilt, knowing that it is full of fresh, seasonal, quality ingredients.
While we may be healthy, we are certainly not boring. We do use ingredients such as butter, cream and chocolate in some of our meals. But we think that if you eat food made from quality ingredients then, in moderation, even the “naughty” parts can be ok.
Food safety is very important to us. Cooked Toowoomba holds a current Food Business License certified by the Toowoomba Regional Council.
