Beef with Black Bean & Ginger (DF)
This is a delicious Spirit House recipe and comes as raw sliced topside beef marinated in our delicious black bean and ginger sauce so all you need to do is toss in a wok or saucepan with your own vegetables - we suggest capsicum, snow peas and spring onion.
To make the sauce we fry ginger, garlic and chilli in vegetable oil then add soaked black beans, soy sauce, kecap manis, sugar and pepper. While there is chilli in this dish, it's of medium strength. Not to strong, but it does have a bit of a kick.
To cook; Defrost the beef heat oil in a really hot wok or fry pan and fry beef until almost cooked, add a little at a time and try not to stew. Add the black bean sauce and fry briefly before adding your vegetables and stiring to cover in all the delicious sauce (it might help to add a splash of water and cover with a lid to get some steam into the vegetables). Serve with steamed jasmine rice.
